Mariana Ndrio is a third-year medical student at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences (UMHS) in St. Kitts and Nevis. Ndrio was born in Greece to Albanian refugee parents and immigrated to the U.S when she was 17 years old. As an aspiring physician, she believes that art can be an indispensable pathway toward delivering compassionate and culturally-sensitive patient care. She likes to use different media in order to delve deeper into the multifaceted and complex psyche of human beings as well as play with abstract and minimalistic ideas, getting inspiration from the medical sciences.
