THE LAST JUDGMENT | Ankit Mehta

“This graphic narrative is an attempt to confront clinician burnout, and a call to action to address this alarming crisis. This artwork is a response to the moral injury and ethical dilemma of working in a profit driven healthcare system that is a major driver of clinician burnout. Creating images inspired from Michelangelo’s iconic artwork on the altar of the Sistine Chapel, I have personally illustrated each image and written the corresponding narrative. As a physician and an educator, I feel passionate about this issue and feel compelled to start a howl from the heart of the crowd.”
