THE STUDENT’S WHITE COAT | Mohamed Sylla
Mohamed Sylla was born in New York City, but grew up in Senegal. “My motivation to become a physician stemmed from being confronted with the harsh reality of poverty there and the lack of good healthcare. As a result, I wanted to become a solution to the problems I encountered: a physician. Art is equally important to me. Without it, my human experiences and thoughts become too elusive to process. It is just like writing but with extra variables at my disposal to further dissect and observe the world around me.”
