Summer Wilcox is a pen and ink artist and physical therapy student from Arizona. She has a BS in Exercise Science and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University. Through artistic realism she works to highlight her perception of beauty in human anatomy. “The Healer’s Art is Head and Heart” (2021) is a visual representation of the balance that takes place within a health care provider to be the best healer. Wilcox depicts that the best doctors have the knowledge to understand a condition and treat it but require emotional connections with their patients to provide meaningful outcomes.
